What is the Break Free Foundation?
The Break Free Foundation advocates to end the stigma of mental health, co-occurring disorders, and substance use disorders for those to and through recovery. We provide those who lack the funds to seek behavioral health and free substance use treatment with scholarships through our semi-annual Break Free NYFW runway fundraiser. We offer monthly virtual webinars and peer-led support groups and will be launching meditation classes and movement classes this summer.
The Break Free Foundation’s Bi-Annual New York Fashion Week Fundraiser
Break Free NYFW is the Break Free Foundation’s semi-annual fundraiser where we invite mental health and recovery rights activists to walk the runway and showcase their designs to spread the message that there is life beyond recovery.
A majority of the proceeds from this showcase go to the Break Free Foundation’s scholarship fund which assists those seeking treatment for a substance use disorder to seek recovery through attending a rehabilitation center. Our next showcase will be held on Sunday, October 7th, 2024.
What is the Break Free Recovery Scholarship?
The Break Free Foundation provides individuals suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders access to free substance use treatment through our recovery scholarship program. We partner directly with inpatient and out patient programs to offer access to affordable and equitable treatment. It is our firm belief that no one should go into debt when seeking out recovery. We are also working on providing scholarships for behavioral health care, sober living, and eating disorder care in the near future.
